WELLNESS - Newsletter August 2010

Hi

Isn't it fantastic when, on a cold day, we can enjoy a hot bath, or even better a hot spring.

Just recently, on our way up from Christchurch we called in on a natural hot spring at Lewis Pass. It is a rather wonderful setting next to a river, and when we approached the 3 small pools, we anticipated that the sandflies would be ready to rub their hands, .... new flesh - yum!

However on that day they luckily were not around much and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. lewispass-hotspring2.jpg

After our delicious bath, we became curious: Is this water ionized water? We got our test instruments and checked it out:
YES - what a nice surprise ! We found naturally occurring antioxidant content, the strongest charge that we measured in a natural source so far: -270mV ORP. Exciting! Even in the river we found a charge of -27mV ORP, a first for us.
There are more natural ionized springs in New Zealand. ...... Fancy a beautiful tropical style experience, swimming in hot water......... The Lost Spring in Whitianga is magic.  ...... see feature below.

How lucky are we to have these amazing natural resources.

The Lost Spring - Naturally Ionised water

lost-spring1.jpga true Jewel as a hot spring and spa set up........ found in the center of Whitianga, Coromandel

Imagine you’ve gone for a walk in the Coromandel bush. The sun is glistening off wet leaves. Native birds abound in lush foliage. Waterfalls descend a volcanic outcrop into effervescent pools. You put your toe in the water... and it’s warm. You strip off and step into delicious soft warm water.....

It was a delightful experience.

After the bath, I learn more about it. They are geothermal pools. “Having seen the lab report and experienced this water first hand it has several unique properties that make it stand out as a healing experience not to be missed."

Warm regards
Joseph and Brook

Tip of the month:

make a fragrant spray, as odoriser in toilets or aroma therapy, massages etc .....

Get a cosmetic spray bottle, and fill it with 20 drops of essential oils, e.g. lavender, then add 100ml of high alkaline ionized water such as pH10. Then shake it well. You will find that the oil gets emulsified really well. Ready to use! Enjoy.
